“No, I didn’t get you anything.”

From Murder Mystery.

Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey Spitz (Jennifer Aniston) have been married for fifteen years, but they have never been on the European honeymoon that he promised.  Police officer Nick is stressed about failing the detectives exam and Audrey is tired of the rut that has become their marriage, so Nick finally books the long-overdue honeymoon.  Unable to sleep on the flight, Audrey wanders into first class where she meets the charming Charles Cavendish (Luke Evans), who invites Nick and Audrey to join him on his billionaire uncle’s yacht to Monaco.  Whisked into a world of luxury and wealth, Cavendish introduces Nick and Audrey to his uncle’s new wife Suzi (Shiori Kutsuna), adult son Tobey (David Walliams), godson Juan Carlos (Luis Gerardo Mendez), best friend (John Kani) and security (Ólafur Darri Olafsson), investment partner Vik (Adeel Akhtar), and actress Grace (Gemma Arterton).  When Cavendish’s uncle, Malcolm (Terrance Stamp) arrives, he announces to all of his guests that he’s going to cut them all out of his will and leave everything to Suzi.  Just as Malcolm is about to sign the new will, the lights go out; when the light comes back on, Malcolm has been stabbed to death.  While Nick is content to stand back and let the French police investigate, the mystery-book-loving Audrey is thrilled at the thought of being so close to a real life murder.  However, when Interpol Inspector Delacroix (Dany Boon) makes Nick and Audrey his prime suspects, the couple searches for the real killer before they end up in prison.  Desperate to find the real killer, the Spitzes begin to question the yacht guests to find the real murderer as more bodies continue to pile up all around them.

This mysterious comedy is filled with all kinds of classic who-done-it elements, but all drenched in humor and satire.  Aniston and Sandler are total opposites that work well together as they lead a talented cast through the quick-paced story.  Murder Mystery is the perfect choice for movie night that will leave viewers enjoying every moment.
