“Very good first chapter attempt.”

From The Lost City.

Despite being a hermit since her husband’s death several years ago, novelist Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has finally completed the latest story in her Dash and Lovemore romance adventure series: The Lost City of D. While Loretta is dreading the book tour that her agent, Beth (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) is forcing her to participate in over the next few weeks, Loretta is especially upset to learn that her Dash cover model, Alan (Channing Tatum), will also be part of the tour.  While Alan tries to show Loretta that he can be serious and more than a just a cover model, she only sees the fans’ reactions to his attractive physique.  However, everything quickly changes when Alan witnesses Loretta being kidnapped from the first stop on the tour.  Loretta is taken to meet the young, wealthy treasure hunter, Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), who realized while reading Loretta’s latest book that she actually translated some ancient words that he discovered on his search for the priceless Crown of Fire headpiece.  Fairfax asks Loretta for help deciphering the hieroglyphs that he’s found in search of the Crown, but when she declines, he drugs her and flies her off to the island where he believes the treasure is located.  Unable to get the police to help find Loretta, Beth and Alan are at a loss until Alan reaches out to a former SEAL friend, Jack (Brad Pitt), for help rescuing the author.  Alan convinces Jack to let him help in the rescue so he can make a good impression on Loretta, but shortly after arriving on the island, things spiral out of control and Loretta and Alan are forced to flee alone through the jungle.  With Fairfax’s henchmen (Héctor Aníbal, Thomas Forbes-Johnson, and Raymond Lee) chasing after them, the pair must find a way to not only stop bickering but trust each other if they want to survive.

Heavy on the comedy and action, this romcom is a non-stop adventure that is sure to be an audience favorite.  Bullock and Tatum are hilarious, both in their individual roles and shared scenes.  The Lost City is an easy, engaging story that will have viewers laughing from start to finish.
