From The Protégé.
Thirty years ago, talented assassin Moody (Samuel L. Jackson) tracked down his targets in Vietnam. However, when he went to complete his contract, he found the men all shot to death… by Anna (Eva Nugyen Thorson), a young local orphan. Not wanting to leave the girl to face both the turmoil of the country and the consequences for her self-defense, Moody helps Anna escape the country. Raised by a highly skilled Moody, Anna (Maggie Q) has now become an unstoppable contract killer. With the help of tech genius Benny (Gamba Cole), Moody and Anna have become notorious for finding—and killing—the unfindable. When not carrying out contacts around the globe, Anna enjoys a quiet alter ego in London as an antique bookstore owner, but that is quickly destroyed when Moody asks Benny to locate a boy that’s been missing for decades: Lucas Hayes. Shortly after picking up Moody’s information from Benny, Anna goes to to see Moody, but finds that he was brutally attacked and murdered. When Benny is killed and she barely escapes an attack herself, Anna realizes that someone is killing anyone with information on Lucas. So with the help of expat bikers (led by Robert Patrick), Anna sets off to Vietnam to interrogate Vohl (Patrick Malahide), an old business partner of Lucas’ corrupt and long dead father, Edward. Nothing is as she expected though, as Anna soon finds herself captured by Vohl’s murderous lawyer (Ray Fearon) and the calm fixer Rembrandt (Michael Keaton), both of whom work for a mysterious millionaire (David Rintoul). Using her years of training, quick wit, and unstoppable desire to punish those responsible for Moody‘s death, Anna fights her way to freedom on a deadly search for revenge.
