From Without Remorse.
As part of an elite Navy SEAL team, John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan) is used to fighting evil all across the globe, but when CIA Agent Ritter (Jamie Bell) arrives to accompany John’s unit on a mission, things are quickly changed forever. Ritter’s mission was supposed to be a straightforward rescue mission of a kidnapped American soldier from an enemy safe house, however, once the team breaches the building they realize that it is really an active Russian weapons smuggling cache. After salvaging the rescue and saving his unit’s leader, Lieutenant Commander Greer (Jodie Turner-Smith), John is angry because Ritter’s lies kept the team from being properly prepared. Soon after the SEALs return home, two team members (Cam Gigandet and Luke Mitchell) are murdered and John is targeted by the assassin group. When the assassins attack John, he is able to kill all but one of the attackers before being incapacitated, but his pregnant wife, Pam (Lauren London) is killed in the process. After John is nearly killed, Greer is called in by Secretary of Defense Clay (Guy Pearce) to be part of an investigation committee with Ritter and the CIA director Sarah Dillard (Lucy Russell). However, when the CIA decides to drop the case, Greer informs John who attacks Russian diplomat Vaseliev (Merab Ninidze) for the name of the assassin that got away. John learns that the missing killer is Victor Rykov (Brett Gelman), so he convinces Secretary Clay that he’s perfect for the mission since he has nothing left to lose. Clay agrees and assigns John to join Ritter, Greer, and three other soldiers (Jack Kesy, Todd Lasance, and Jacob Scipio) to sneak into Murmansk, Russia in search of Rykov. However, when their mission goes terribly wrong before it even begins, John searches not only searches for Rykov, but also those operating behind the lies.
Inspired by the Tom Clancy novel, this thrilling movie will have viewers on the edge of their seats. Jordan leads a talented cast through intense battles, suspenseful twists, and impressive stunts. While the first half of the film is a bit slower, the second half of Without Remorse more than makes up for it and it will have viewers looking forward to a second installment in the series.
