Substitute teacher Rob Anderson (Marlon Wayans) has been completely happy living his life being unreliable.  When Rob fell in love with Megan (Regina Hall), he found more happiness than he ever expected.  On the night before their wedding, Rob and Megan arrive in Charleston to prepare for the ceremony, where they are greeted by Rob’s flighty mother (Loretta Devine), Benny the best man (J.T. Jackson), Megan’s wealthy and disapproving father (Dennis Haysbert), Vicky the maid of honor (Eliza Couple), and Megan’s successful ex-boyfriend, Cody (Scott Foley).  When Megan heads off to her bachelorette party, Benny and Rob head out for a drink, however, when Rob wakes up the next day, naked and trapped in an elevator, craziness ensues.  Rob tries to find his way to the ceremony, but He’s only able to get himself arrested before church bells ring and he’s sucked back in time to moments before the elevator doors are opened.  Rob quickly realizes that he’s stuck in an one-hour time loop that restarts with him naked in the elevator every time the church bells ring; desperate to escape the time loop and make it to the wedding, Rob is willing to try just about anything to escape the loop and marry Megan.  Each hour presents Rob with challenges as he tries to get help from a motorcycle gang (led by Cory Hardrict), Rob McKnight (as himself), two police officers (Neil Brown Jr. and Dave Sheridan), and even a hooker (Minka Kelly).  The longer that the time loop drags on, the more Rob realizes that someone he knows put him, naked, in the elevator to stop the wedding, and he’ll also need to solve that mystery on the way to his wedding.

This Groundhog Day-like comedy is filled with laughs from start to finish.  Wayans flows easily in his role as immature goof and dedicated groom-to-be.  A quick-moving movie that provides a surprisingly complex story, Naked is the perfect lighthearted pick for movie night.
