“Glitter.”

From Trolls World Tour.

The energetic Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and the cautious Branch (Justin Timberlake) are still friends after saving the world, although now that Poppy is queen of the Pop Trolls, Branch is struggling with how to tell her how he really feels about her.  When Poppy receives an invitation from the mysterious Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom) of the Rock Trolls inviting her to bring the pop string for a big party, Poppy is ecstatic.  However, Poppy’s father warns her against interacting with Barb as he tells Poppy, Branch, and their closest friends the secret history of the powerful six strings that make up the different Troll kingdoms: pop, hard rock, techno, classical, country, and funk.  Ignoring her father’s warning, Poppy takes the pop string and heads off to meet Barb, whom she is sure will soon be her new best friend.  Unwilling to let her go alone, Branch, Biggie (James Corden), and Mr. Dinkles (Kevin Michael Richardson) join Poppy as she quickly learns that Queen Barb’s intentions and Poppy’s own history are darker than she ever imagined.  While Cooper (Ron Funches) is off searching for other trolls like him, Poppy, Branch, and Biggie find themselves in more and more trouble when Barb sends several different bounty hunters (including J Balvin, Jamie Dornan, SEULGI, and WENDY) to find them.  When they’re only able to find help from a country troll named Hickory (Sam Rockwell), Branch struggles to get Poppy to listen to the warnings of everyone around her.  However, when Poppy is captured and all music is threatened, it will push the troll leaders (Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, George Clinton, Gustavo Dudamel, Ozzy Osbourne, and Anthony Ramos) to find a way to save music together.

The songs and arrangements are fun, especially when coupled with the bright and nonsensical settings.  Kendrick and Timberlake both manage to embody the attitudes of their unique characters, in both dialog and song.  Filled with family friendly humor for all ages, Trolls World Tour is the perfect pick for movie night.
