From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
New York City is still being protected, unknowingly, by the teenage mutant ninja turtles. In the time since they locked up the wicked Shredder (Brian Tee) for trying to destroy New York, leader Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville), hothead Raphael (Alan Ritchson), and tech-loving Donatello (Jeremy Howard) are content with the secrecy involved in protecting the world, the pizza-loving ladies man Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) wants to live above ground. When the turtle’s friend, April (Megan Fox) has suspicions that the brilliant Dr. Stockman (Tyler Perry) is working to free Shredder, she uncovers proof of the plan, but not before the escape of Shredder and the other felons in his transport, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Sheamus). During his escape, Shredder meets and joins forces with Commander Krang (Brad Garrett) to build a portal to dominate Earth. Unaware of the complete danger facing them, the turtles and their sensei Splinter (Tony Shalhoub) begin their quest to recapture Shredder. While investigating Stockman, April witnesses Shredder use Krang’s technology to turn Bebop and Rocksteady into a giant rhino and warthog to take on the turtles. Disgraced after losing the prisoners in the ambush, officer Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) decides to take matters into his own hands and find Bebop and Rocksteady while donning a hockey stick and mask. Unable to find the escapees on his own, Casey joins forces with April and the turtles to stop and recapture Shredder before its too late. When April and Casey are arrested (by Laura Linney), April reaches out to her old cameraman Vern (Will Arnett) for help, so the turtles are left alone to try to work through their many differences and save the world.
This sequel to the 2014 relaunch manages to take everything from the first film and make it better. The turtles are take center stage in this movie, rather than the attractive female human sidekick. Fans of the TMNT shows and movies will connect more with the characters and storyline, but anyone seeking an action-packed adventure need look no further than Out of the Shadows.
