“Yeah, man.”

From Bad Boys for Life.

As partners for over twenty years, police detectives Mike (Will Smith) and Marcus (Martin Lawrence) have used their friendship of polar opposites to protect Miami from all kinds of dangers.  When a ruthless prisoner (Kate del Castillo) escapes from a Mexican prison with the help of assassin son, Armando (Jacob Scipio), she sends her son on a series of revenge murders that end with Mike.  When Armando almost succeeds in killing Mike, Marcus and the entire force search to find his would-be murderer, but they are unable to make any fast progress.  After Mike recovers, family man Marcus decides to retire and spend his time at home with his wife (Theresa Randle) and family, which causes a rift between the longtime friends.  When Mike refuses to leave his attack alone, Captain Conrad (Joe Pantoliano) assigns him to consult with the AMMO division assigned to his case; while Mike trusts the woman in charge of AMMO, Rita (Paola Núñez), he is thoroughly unimpressed with the other young officers in the unit (Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Charles Melton).  While Mike disobeys orders by diving deeper into his case, Marcus is happily enjoying retirement until Armando resurfaces intent on making Mike suffer by hurting those closest to him.  Left with nowhere else to turn, Mike and Marcus join forces one last time to find Armando, his accomplices (including Nicky Jam), and the motivation behind it all.  As the pair chase after the assassin, they quickly realize that they are up against a larger force than they every could have imagined.

This third installment of the Bad Boys series takes place seventeen and twenty-five years after the previous two movies, respectively, but the action-packed buddy comedy picks up right where the others left off.  Smith and Lawrence again perfectly embody their total opposite characters.  The action is over the top and the humor is non-stop, creating an edge-of-your-seat action ride.  The movie has several twists that will keep viewers from becoming bored with the story.  Bad Boys for Life is a captivating must-watch for fans of the series.
