From Frozen II.
When they were little girls, their father (Alfred Molina) and mother (Evan Rachel Wood) told them of the magical forest that was home to the Northuldra people who lived in harmony with the four nature spirits: fire, water, wind, and earth. However, as adults Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) reflect on the terrible events that took place on the day Arendelle gifted a dam to the Northuldra, where fighting broke out among the peoples and a magical mist descended, creating an impenetrable wall for all inside. And while life is good for the royal sisters, their magical walking/talking snowman, Olaf (Josh Gad), Anna’s boyfriend, Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and his dedicated reindeer, Sven, Elsa is not really happy; she hears a voice that no one else does and knows it’s calling her to follow. After accidentally waking the long-dormant nature spirits, Elsa places Arendelle in danger, so she, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven head off in search of the voice and the magical forest. With Elsa’s powers, they’re able to enter the forest where they find the Northuldra (led by Martha Plimpton) and soldiers from Arendelle (led by Sterling K. Brown) alive and well. While Elsa tries to protect everyone from the four angry spirits, she learns of a fifth spirit hidden far away on an island that can bring peace back to nature and magic. So Elsa, Anna, and Olaf set off to find the fifth spirit, but when Elsa realizes how dangerous the journey will be, she pushes Anna and Olaf away before continuing on by herself. As Elsa faces the dangers on her journey, Anna fights to find and help her before it’s too late, both for Elsa and Arendelle.
This sequel to the 2013 original hit is filled with lots of laughter, especially with Olaf whose innocence helps to relieve the tense scenes for younger viewers. The story provides some twists while again highlighting the important bond between sisters and close friends. Breathtaking animation coupled with talented voice actors and a musical score that rivals the original film, make Frozen II is the must-see adventure for the whole family to enjoy.
