Henry Brogen (Will Smith) is a skilled assassin for the Defense Intelligence Agency and after years of service has decided that he wants to retire.  However when an old colleague (Douglas Hodge) informs him that his last kill was not of a terrorist as he had been told, but a dedicated American scientist, Henry’s world becomes one big quest for truth.  So the DIA Director (Linda Emond) and the director of the secret, super-soldier creating Gemini program, Clay Verris (Clive Owen) decide that Henry knows too much and needs to be taken out.  After making his retirement handler, Danny (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), she becomes a loose end connected to Henry, so Henry saves her from being killed and brings her on the run.  Connecting with Henry’s go-to pilot from the past, Baron (Benedict Wong), the trio take off across the globe on a quest to stay alive and discover the secrets that are hiding just below the surface.  When he DIA is unable to kill Henry, Verris sends in his son and cloned secret weapon Junior (also Will Smith) to hunt down and kill Henry.  Discovering that he was cloned 25 years ago and that his clone was raised to be an even more ruthless assassin than his original, Henry is pushed close to the edge as he battles both with the demons of his past and the insurmountable danger of his future.  Now Henry must decide if he is willing to save himself and those around him by sacrificing his clone or if he’s willing to risk everything to save the boy.

This action movie is packed with fights, ambushes, and espionage to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.  The special effects involved in making Smith younger while also interacting with his un-aged self is impressive, with only a few scenes coming off looking overly-animated.  While the movie has met with distaste from many critics, viewers looking for an enjoyable and surprising action-packed adventure need look no further than Gemini Man.
