Nine years ago, when Bo Peep (Annie Potts) was given away to another little girl, Woody (Tom Hanks) stayed to be with their boy, Andy.  When Andy grew up, he gave his toys to Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw) who gave Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), Rex (Wallace Shawn), Hamm (John Ratzenberger), Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head (Don Rickles and Estelle Harris), and Slinky Dog (Blake Clark) a new chance to play.  However, recently Woody has found himself being left on the sidelines while Bonnie plays with her other toys (including Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, and Jeff Garlin); despite Bonnie’s disinterest, Woody sneaks along to help her with kindergarten and he inadvertently helps her create a new toy out of a spork, Forky (Tony Hale).  Woody’s mission in life then becomes protecting Forky, even when Bonnie’s parents (Lori Alan and Jay Hernandez) announce a road trip and Forky jumps out the RV window in the middle of nowhere.  Desperate to get Forky back to Bonnie, Woody runs into a doll with a defective voice box (Christina Hendricks), her band of dummies… and Bo.  While Buzz tries to learn how to listen to his inner voice, Bo, two carnival prizes (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele), a stunt driver (Keanu Reeves), and a tiny police officer (Ally Maki) soon become Woody’s only chance to get back with his kid before they are separated forever.

This latest installment in the long-developing Disney/Pixar series is centered around a funny, twisting story that is just what fans didn’t know they needed.  The movie is very Woody-centered with Buzz and the other favorites taking a step back in this goodbye role.  The dummies are a bit creepy and there are a few mild jump scares, but knowing who is good and bad is a nice change from the last movie.  Full of Easter eggs, breathtaking animation, a brilliant cast, and childhood nostalgia, Toy Story 4 is a hilarious adventure that both the young and young at heart will love!
