From Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Five years after Godzilla first arrived and destroyed San Francisco, the world is desperately looking for answers and a solution to the growing number of Titan giants that have been located around the world. After losing their son in San Francisco’s destruction, two employees of the secret Titan agency Monarch, Mark (Kyle Chandler) and Emma (Vera Farmiga), took drastically different paths; while Mark left Monarch behind, along with their young daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), Emma continued to work with Monarch to observe, protect, and conceal the Titans of the world from its citizens. After Emma successfully creates a sonic mimicking machine for the Titans called the Orca, the Monarch base where they live is attacked by ecoterrorist Jonah Alan (Charles Dance) and Emma, Madison, and the Orca are taken. Monarch leader Dr. Serizawa (Ken Waranabe) reaches out to mark asking him to use his past knowledge of the Orca’s technology to not only find his ex-wife and daughter, but also help Godzilla defeat the Titans that Alan has begun waking up across the globe. Reluctantly, Mark agrees and despite his hatred of Godzilla, he accompanies a small group of scientists (Sally Hawkins, Thomas Middleditch, Zhang Ziyi, and Bradley Whitford) and soldiers (Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Elizabeth Ludlow, and Anthony Ramos) as they travel around the world trying to track and assist the King of the Monsters before all of earth is wiped out.
This monster-fest features Godzilla and tons of other fan favorite monsters. The special effects are breathtaking as well as the sets and fights (between both monsters and mankind). The cast is full of major names that blend well, carrying their character, but not stealing the show. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is an action-packed science fiction adventure filled with questionable human motivation and amazing giant monsters.
