“No?”

From Missing Link.

Avid adventurer sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman) is desperate to prove the existence of a mythical beast so that he can finally gain membership into a respected adventure’s club.  Despite his skill as an adventurer, he is constantly denied largely in part of the efforts of Lord Piggot-Dunceby (Stephen Fry).  However when he receives a letter telling him the location of a Sasquatch, he risks his final reputation on finding the animal and bringing back proof.  When he finds the Sasquatch, he is surprised to find an animal that can speak, read, and write; he also discovers that this missing link is the one who wrote him for help.  Susan the Sasquatch (Zach Galifianakis) is lonely and needs Frost’s help to travel across the world in search of the yetis (including Emma Thompson) who Susan believes are his distant relatives.  Frost agrees and the two set off, but frost first has to “borrow” a map from his ex-girlfriend Adelina (Zoe Saldana) to navigate the Himalayas, but she refuses to be left out of the adventure and joins Susan and Frost.  The ragtag group of adventurers soon discover that Piggot-Dunceby has sent an assassin (Timothy Olyphant) after them to ensure they don’t succeed on their quest, so their difficult journey has become that much harder, but they will stop at nothing to help Susan find his family.

This animated comedy is fun and simple which makes it an enjoyable experience for the whole family; while some adults might wish for more action, the humor is constant and clean to fill in the gaps.  Galifianakis, Jackman, and Saldana all give life to their unique characters allowing everyone to voice their character’s personality in balance with the others.  The animation is fun, bright, and unique which helps to create the perfect world for the film’s story.  Missing Link is a surprisingly fun adventure that will be especially enjoyable for fans of Zach Galifianakis’ brand of humor.
