From How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
Now that he is the Chief of Berk, Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) is trying to honor the legacy of his father (Gerard Butler). Hiccup leads his people with the help of his mother (Cate Blanchett), girlfriend Astrid (America Ferrera), friends (Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Craig Ferguson), and his faithful Night Fury dragon Toothless. A few years ago, Hiccup convinced his people to stop killing dragons and instead protect and understand them to benefit both groups. Unwilling to see dragons trapped and abused, Hiccup and his friends have been going on rescue missions, taking on trapper boats and the warlords that run them. Tired of their kidnapped dragons being stolen, the warlords contact the dragon killer Grimmel (F. Murray Abraham), who has killed every Night Fury except for Toothless. Grimmel agrees to help the warlords re-capture all the dragons in exchange for Toothless. When Hiccup’s friend Eret (Kit Harrington) hears about Grimmel, he tries to warn Hiccup and the Berks of the danger ahead, but when Hiccup underestimates Grimmel, he sees firsthand the kind of evil that they’ll be up against to protect their dragons, friends, and way of life. When Toothless meets a female Light Fury dragon and falls in love, it becomes obvious to Hiccup that the only way to keep the dragons and Berks safe is to abandon their home in search of the fabled hidden world where the dragons could live in peace and safety from all who would seek to harm them.
This third and most likely final installment How to Train Your Dragon series is as sweetly funny as the previous two, but it also adds a bittersweet layer that often comes with growing up and sacrificing for the ones we love. With the return of the amazing voice actors and the addition of some talented new cast members, the breathtaking animation fits seamlessly together to create a captivating movie from start to finish. Even the dialogue-free scenes with Toothless are far from boring as the animation of this lovable, expressive dragon is perfect. The Hidden World is filled with action, adventure, and lots of laughs that the entire family can enjoy together.
