“Yes!”

From Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

For centuries, the Van Helsing family has hunted monsters; however the Van Helsing legacy hit a snag with Abraham Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan), because no matter how hard he tries to kill him, Dracula (Adam Sandler) always comes out on top.  Fast forward to modern day, and Dracula, along with his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), human son-in-law (Andy Samberg), and grandson (Asher Blinkoff), is running the best resort for monsters: Hotel Transylvania.  The widower vampire is lonely, but Mavis mistakes his downcast attitude for an overworked stress, so she schedules a summer vacation for her family and closest friends… on the world’s first monster cruise.  Upon arriving on the ship, Dracula meets Captain Erica (Kathryn Hahn) and zings… which is a monster version of love at first sight.  When Dracula’s friends Blobby (Genndy Tartakovsky), Frankenstein (Kevin James), Jack the invisible man (David Spade), Murray the mummy (Keegan-Michael Key), and Wayne the werwolf (Steve Buscemi) overhear Erica talking about how she wants Dracula but doesn’t know how to get him, they tell Dracula that she’s into him too and push him into asking Erica out.  Unfortunately, Erica’s intentions are dangerously different than Dracula, but with everyone running all over the cruise ship doing all kinds of craziness, the only thing that’s true for everyone is that this will be a summer vacation to remember.

The animation, voice acting, and soundtrack are brilliantly woven together to create a story that is hilarious and original.  The perfect family film with the exception of one villain’s terrifying looks and a handful of inuendos scattered throughout a few conversations; both elements are presented in a way to not take away from the movie as a whole, but something for parents to be conscious of.  Even while it is geared toward young and family audiences, the humor is genuine enough to keep viewers of all ages engaged from start to finish.  Hotel Transylvania 3 is the perfect blend of reality and fantasy to make it such a fun movie.
