From Logan Lucky.
Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) is a man that is giving life his all, even though it doesn’t seem to be enough. His dedication to his job on a construction crew is thrown aside for an insurance issue, his ex-wife (Katie Holmes) wants to move his daughter, Sadie, (Farrah Mackenzie) out of state, and the bills are starting to pile up. Clyde (Adam Driver), Jimmy’s one-armed brother blames all their misfortune is part of a family curse, but Jimmy holds out that their luck just hasn’t happened yet. In an effort to raise enough money to pay the bills and a lawyer to keep his daughter close to him, Jimmy develops a plan to rob the still-under-construction Charlotte Motor Speedway vault because that was where his construction crew had been working and he got to know the layout well-enough before he was fired. He recruits his brother, his sister (Riley Keough), and an currently-incarcerated thief/bomber named Joe Bang (Daniel Craig). All Jimmy will have to do is break Joe out of prison, steal the small fortune, get away with the money without being caught, break Joe back into prison before anyone realizes he’s gone, dodge the FBI, and all in time to make it to his daughter’s beauty pageant.
The comedy in this movie is dry, but it is plentiful. Tatum and Driver are the perfect balance of brilliance and stupidity, and while the on-screen pairing may seem bizar, it really is a perfect match. The rest of the cast is made up of a pleasant mix of famous talents, both expected and unexpected, transformed to blend perfectly into this NC world. The action is fun and does play out as a redneck Ocean’s Eleven with everything you love about the series without all the glitz and glam. Viewers of all ages will enjoy the twists and turns the play out on the screen, with a surprising conclusion that is very entertaining. Logan Lucky is a fun ride that will keep viewers of all ages entertained from start to finish.
